Caution:

By default the BIGIP 5100 load balancer will have the Baud Rate set to 19200. The Baud Rate should be changed depending upon the customer’s network requirement.

Procedure:

1) Plug a null-modem serial cable to the BIGIP 5100 Load Balancer console port with a PC running terminal emulation software.

2) Set the terminal emulation software to 19200 baud, no flow control (on Cisco terminal server, issue the command: speed 19200).

3) Log in to the BIGIP 5100 Load Balancer.

4) Issue the command ‘b global quiet_boot disable’

5) Reboot the BIGIP 5100 Load Balancer.

6) When prompted press ‘S’ to enter the BIOS setup.

7) At the bottom of the first screen, select Advanced and then Remote Access,

8) Change the setting to 9600,N,8,1

9) Save and exit.

10) Reset the terminal emulation software to 9600 baud rate (on Cisco terminal server, issue the command: speed 9600)

11) Log in to the BIGIP 5100 Load Balancer.

12) Issue ‘b global quiet boot enable’.
